Conditions
Relating to the Award of Postgraduate Research Grants
The CRC for Greenhouse
Accounting offers a limited number of postgraduate research grants
each year, to outstanding applicants. The proposed research topic
must fall within the central research goals of the CRC , as these
are embodied in the research programs of the CRC . Applicants
should contact the Program Leader of the relevant CRC research
program prior to applying in order to discuss the applicability
of their proposed research topic to the CRC's goals.
Prospective applicants
must be accepted for postgraduate study at an Australian university,
and should normally be likely to receive (or already in receipt
of) an APA, IPRS or equivalent scholarship. All applicants must
nominate, and have discussed their research topic with, a supervisor
who is a member of the CRC, as well as a university-based academic
supervisor (these may, but will not necessarily, be the same person).
For PhD study, the
grants are for a total of $20,000 over three-four years (nominally
$5,000 per year for three years, with the remaining $5,000 reserved
to fund attendance at the Annual Science Meetings of the CRC,
and for education purposes).
For Masters
study, the grants total $12, 500 over 18 two years (nominally
$5K per year for two years, with the remaininder reserved to fund
attendance at the Annual Science Meetings of the CRC, and for
education purposes).
In the
case of both PhD and Masters research grants, the funds are intended
to be used as operating funds, and not as stipend. The grants
