The CRC for Greenhouse Accounting offers a limited number
of Honours scholarships each year, to outstanding applicants. The intention
of the CRC GA in offering Honours scholarships is to encourage students
to develop greenhouse-related research skills, and to fund short-duration
research projects of interest to the CRC. The proposed research topic
must fall within the central research goals of the CRC , as these are
embodied in the research programs of the CRC . Applicants should contact
the Program Leader of the relevant CRC research program prior to applying
in order to discuss the applicability of their proposed research topic
to the CRCs goals.
Applicants must be accepted for fourth-year Honours at
an Australian university, be studying full-time towards their Honours
degree, and should be commencing Honours study in first semester 2003.
All successful applicants will have a CRC mentor associated with their
project, but are expected to receive academic supervision from the university
in which they are enrolled.
CRC GA Honours scholarships are valued at $2,500, plus
the costs of attending the Annual Science Meeting of the CRC during
the Honours year. Being at the ASM allows students to interact with
all of the scientists and postgraduates within in the CRC, and to see
their own research in the broad perspective of the CRCs research
activity. The ASM is held in June of each year.
Honours scholarships from the CRC GA are governed by the
rules and conditions set out in the document Conditions
relating to the award of a Cooperative Research Centre for Greenhouse
Accounting Honours Scholarship.
A document describing application
requirements and the assessment process , and an application
form , are also available. Closing
dates for applications will be strictly observed.
