The CRC for Greenhouse Accounting is presenting a 3-day short course
on forest carbon measurement for forest and land managers, and the wider
community. The principal aim in the course is to provide insight into
the practice of forest carbon estimation, in the context of current national
and international carbon trading considerations. The course content is
guided by the official Australian Greenhouse Office Protocol for Sampling
Tree and Stand Biomass (NCAS Technical Report No. 31, released 2001),
and incorporates hands-on field-based measurement modules. The course
will be of interest to forest resource managers, land managers, consultancies
with an interest in this area, and related public and private sector industries.
Further details about the course, including a registration form, are
available on the Greenhouse Accounting web site at www.greenhouse.crc.org.au;
the closing date for registration is Monday 8 October 2001. Registration
is limited to 16 participants.
